How do you bring in antiques in a modern way? I don’t know about you, but I find some cool stuff at the antique store and thrift store. But how do you incorporate them in a cool and “Pinterest” kind of way? Let me show you how I have styled some antiques.
I like having pieces in my house that are unique and one of a kind. Also, I realized I have more items to share than this, but here is a start!
First up, an antique chest that I found back in college. It adds some charm and through the years has served as storage, a coffee table, and now a place for guests to put luggage on in our guest room. Functional decor is a brilliant place to start.

The hunting photo was also an antique store find and adds a touch of Ralph Lauren vibes above the chest. I think this particular art piece adds some muted color and moodiness. The fresh hydrangeas bring some life and charm to the whole look.

I found this black and white artwork from an antique store in Texas that is in our guest bathroom. I am partial to black and white art. I think it looks so classic and this one is so cool with a castle. I looked up the “Duart Castle” and it is in Scotland. Such a unique and cute piece of art!
The hooks under the photo are for guests to put towels and extra hand towels. I think it helps frame the art nicely.

Stoneware antique crock for holding utensils. Not revolutionary, however, this is not your average utensil holder from Target and I like that! Styling it with some cookbooks makes it more modern and intentional.

Lastly, a dog food bowl for my puppy Elvis. The other side of this bowl says “The Black Dog” from Martha’s Vineyard. A preppy touch and I haven’t seen this bowl before! I found the bowl at an antique mall/thrift mall.
We have many more thrift store/antique store finds to share. Kaitlyn and I include antique store shopping in our weekends when we are together. A small town in Minden, Louisiana has the most amazing antique stores. We typically start our shopping adventures at a local coffee shop called Brick Street Coffee. This coffee shop has delicious coffee and pastries. I usually get an iced americano and an almond croissant. *Chefs Kiss* I am already dreaming about another shopping day there with my sister!!
Xoxo,
Kemily
