Welcome to our Lit Ghost DIY post on how to make the viral Pottery Barn Lit Ghost Collection ghosts! I want to break down the cost to make each ghost and compare the price to Pottery Barn. Let’s get right to it!

Here is the final product! So cute and lots of texture!

You’re gonna start with some basic tomato cages and turn them upside down. (we cut one layer out of the cage for the smaller ghost). Next, you add some 5.6 inch foam balls to the legs as shown in the picture above.

The next step is adding your string lights.

Now you drape one tablecloth over each ghost! Then you add your gauze material on top of that. The gauze I linked is big enough that you only need 2 packs to cover all the ghosts and still have some puddle around the ghosts.
Cut out your eyes and use the double sided tape to attach them to the ghosts! (I cut one eye out first and used it as a guide for the rest!)

- Items You Need For 3 Ghosts:
The inspiration for these ghosts is the pottery barn lit ghost collection! What I love about the DIY version is that you can store them with ease. Once the Halloween season is over, I plan to store the gauze, the tablecloths, and lights in their own ziplock bags. I will also stack the cages on top of each other and that makes them easy to store for next year!
The Pottery Barn Lit Ghost Collection is awesome but going to cost you. Here is the breakdown. Even on sale, the cost of 3 large ghosts would be around $164.00. If you do the DIY version like I did, the total break down of each ghosts is $21. You could also use the lights at Christmas time so you can repurpose the lights for other holidays!

I would love to add a witch hat to my ghosts and a broom like the Pottery Barn display shows!
We hope you love these DIY lit ghosts as much as we do!
Xoxo,
Kaitlyn and Kemily
