Okay, so this is called my “Holiday Outfit Formula” because I think it is easy to recreate! I include something with textures. Silk, satin, velvet, sheer, or SHINE! I love mixing the textures. An easy way to do this is start with a slip dress or slip skirt of some kind. Here I am wearing a Madewell dress that is really quite simple (also slip skirts/dresses are easy to find right now!) Next, I threw on this sheer long sleeve top to add a feminine touch and it does not feel too heavy with the satin. Finally, do some coordinating hair accessory and purse. Voila!
I found a pack of small velvet bows from Anthropologie and Target and they seriously add some cute touches with minimal effort. I pulled out this velvet bag that I have had for years from T.J. Maxx. And for an unexpected twist, COWBOY BOOTS!! Also, this look to me could go either New Year’s Day or Christmas. Keep scrolling for a more festive look!
I swapped out the purses to show this formula in action! I didn’t get a photo of my hair bow, but I put some red velvet bows in my hair and paired it with a Christmas green bag for more of that festive feel. I would say if you are on the fence, go ahead and snag a slip dress as an outfit base this holiday season. Super easy to work with and try with different textures and shoes.
Xoxo,
